Digital Marketing Channels

Choose at least two digital marketing channels to promote and market the product or service chosen for your marketing campaign. Think through how you would leverage these channels, using the questions below to guide you:

  • What two digital channels did you choose and why?
  • What customer needs and desires does your product or service address?
  • What are the core values and beliefs of your target audience?
  • Create a brief “story” or idea to promote your product or service to customers

Identify one competitor already in the marketplace with a similar product or service to yours. Respond to the below prompts:

  • What company did you identify and what product or service do they offer?
  • Which channels do they use to promote their product or service?
  • Describe or quote some messages that they use to promote their product or service
  • Do you think that their messaging is effective? Why or why not?

peer #1

I would use social media. Facebook and Instagram would be the two digital channels I’d use to market my product. Raising awareness to the service we are providing through targeted or direct segments (Kotler, 1). I would be able to do this through both facebook and instagram.

Customer needs

My customers would be the parents in my after school program. They are targeted because the services I need and will provide. My services are to give there children who are teenagers a job. Their job is to come after school complete their homework then assist the younger children with theirs. The parents would get a discount for their child participating and the child (helper) would get a check.

Core Beliefs

Customer belief is that after school programs are expensive. Most programs open at a good time. Usually when school is letting out however, some programs closes too early. Most programs closes at 6pm or 6:30pm and charge by the minute when parents are running late. Programs are closing at rush hour which mean the parents are rushing from work, in traffic trying to pick up their children on time.

Story

My after school program hours are 3pm-7pm. The program will give the parent a discount for allowing their child to assist other children with homework assignments. The child (helper) will receive a check. I will give my parents/customers that extra time to actually make it from work to the program in time without accruing fees.

Competition

My competition is another after school program that is around the corner from me. They provide all kinds of services including pick up from school. However, they do not provide the discount I’m providing for the teenagers and they’re not giving them a check. They also market on social media and has been very successful.
