The implications on mental health and well-being during the Covid-19 pandemic

Preamble: The COVID-19 pandemic will affect the mental health and wellbeing of people already experiencing mental health challenges and disorders. Anxiety, worry and fear about COVID-19 can be overwhelming, exacerbating some mental health conditions for people already experiencing mental distress. Social distancing can make people feel more isolated and lonelier and can increase stress, decrease access to services, and subsequently may result in deterioration to their mental state.

You are to include in the main body of your assignment (essay);

• A discussion associated with the preamble above.
• Global (world) and local impacts, inclusive of brief statistics associated with mental disorders/stressors.
• Discuss the main mental health issues during the Covid-19 outbreak; with a focus on the local context.
•  What have the main impacts been? Identify and present the key impacts in your discussion.
•  Address comorbidity (substance use) and mental illness during this time.
•  Identify potential ramifications of the pandemic on people’s mental health across a biopsychosocial perspective.
•  Discuss the problems faced by healthcare workers. Is there information mental health care nurses/staff?

To note; this is not an essay about Covid-19. This is an essay on the current literature/research on mental illness/health associated with the Covid -19 crisis.
