Having a good leader is important to the success of an organization. Leaders face many challenges and are in a position to lead and guide others through those challenges. Here’s a few characteristics that I feel are important for a leader to have.

Integrity: Team members need to see their leader do the right thing always, not just when it benefits them. This teaches people that sometimes we have to do the right thing because it’s right, not because it will advance us.

Honesty: Employees depend on their leader to be truthful and open. It’s important to share honestly even when it may not be the easiest message to relay.

Trustworthy: As leaders our team as well as peers need to be able to trust us. Growing our employees requires knowing them. Knowing our employees, requires building a relationship with them and that begins with trust.

Communication: Leaders must be able to speak as well as listen. Knowing that communication is a two way road helps to build relationships.

Goals: It is important for leaders to have goals set and a plan for how to achieve them. When the team knows what they are working toward, things run more smoothly.

3.Leaders play a critical role in taking on the responsibility of ensuring there is a high level of organizational performance. They establish and maintain organizational culture, retention, planning, development and training and shaping of the healthcare policies. Leader assist with building operative relationship with employees by implementing effective communicating that involves respectful collaboration and demonstrating appreciation and modesty with every interaction. Leaders help with stimulating the determination and passion of the strategies and values of the organizations purpose and commitment to service. Leaders are managers that understand that being an active listener helps with establishing the image that the ideas of integrity and honestly are very important principles. Leadership is about bringing employees together to share an understanding that supports a focus on the company’s goals. Leaders are responsible for grooming organizational behaviors and cultivating strong receptive employees that demonstrate great communication skills that promote their talents in order to assist with upholding a successful organization. Leaders possess the powers of identifying and understanding a desired implemented modification or change for an organization along with having the ability to process and execute the idea in order to achieve its goals for future success.
