Review the article –  Field Placement: How is Your Practice Stamina.

This will look familiar, as you read it in preparation for your junior placement as well.  However we believe it is worth re-evaluating in light of senior placement.

Reflect on each component of the SHAPE model and respond to the questions below in a Word document.

1) Senior field placement is particularly demanding and prepares you for full-time social work. Consider the time commitment of 32 hours per week of placement as well as the emotional and physical stamina required. They may need to adjust the expectations held by themselves and others regarding personal, work, family, church and community responsibilities, and they may need to temporarily adjust obligations. What practical adjustments do you feel that will you need to make?

2) Identify 1-2 areas in which you need to personally grow, including a course of action to improve in these areas to facilitate field preparedness (regarding coping with stress, anxiety, performance expectations, time management, selfcare, spiritual counsel, professional development in communication or writing, etc)
