This assignment will align with the Essential VIII (the attached file “Essentials of Baccalaureate Education”).

Description of the assignment:

This values clarification exercise assignment gives the student the opportunity to identify the top ten personal values, prioritize those values, and examine the role of those values in ethical decision-making. The requirements of the paper are below.

Process: 

• Please read the attached file “Chapter 4 – Ethical Foundations of Professional Nursing” from the textbook to understand:
  • Why Values are Important
  • Values vs. Beliefs
  • Values-Based Decision-Making
• Read pages 5 -9 and 26-29 in the attached file “Essentials of Baccalaureate Education”.
• Review the result in the attached file “Student Name – PVA Jun 2020”

Requirements:

1. Please write a paper is not to exceed 3 pages in length, excluding the title page and references. If the paper exceeds the page limit it will not be graded.
2. The paper is to be written in 7^th Ed APA format. All APA requirements for this assignment is listed below. The only exception is that you can use “I” in this paper.

      4. How does nursing challenge your (student) values?
      5. Compare (what are the similarities and differences between your (student) values in the attached file “Personal Value Assessment Jun 2020” and the attached file “Essentials of Baccalaureate Education”, your (student) personal values and beliefs with the five professional values described in the Baccalaureate Essentials (pages 26-29).
   4. Conclusion – here you will summarize the main points that you have made in the body of the paper.
   5. Reference page – all references used in your paper must be on this list.
