Discussion: Chi Square

Please write the initial post and follow the instructions and the grading rubric. After writing the initial discussion I can send you 2 discussions of my colleagues to write responses too. Thanks

Initial Post:

Design your own study where the Chi Square test would be the appropriate test statistic. Give (1) your sample, (2) research question, (3) the appropriate test with the null and research hypotheses, and (4) the two variables, including (a) how you would measure both variables and (b) each variable’s level of measurement. Be creative. Do not include data in your response.

Response Posts:

Read the posts of other learners and respond to at least 2 other learners. Your responses are expected to be substantive in nature and reference the assigned readings, as well as other theoretical, empirical, or professional literature to support your views and writings.

  • In your response, make modifications to their study. For example, could the outcome variable have been measured in another way? Could a different test or sample have been used?

Criteria Ratings Pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeSample

5 to >3.0 pts

Meets Standard

Thoroughly responds to all components of the question; critical thinking apparent; course content applied; provides evidence/support.

3 to >1.0 pts

Approaching Standard

Partially responds to question in a meaningful way; response may lack completeness or evidence of critical thinking; does not provide enough evidence/support.

1 to >0 pts

Not Meeting Standard

Lacking entirely, or severely limited in content/quality.
